My boyfriend Larry and I were new in town, and were looking for interesting places to drink. We walked by a bar that had a sign in big neon. ‘The Skull’ it was simply called. Outside there was a whole line of motorbikes, and it sounded pretty rowdy inside.

“Ooh a biker bar”, said Larry. “If we go in here, take some selfies and put them online we’ll look really edgy.”

“Um, I suppose so.” I really wasn’t sure this was our kind of place.

As we approached we saw that there were a bunch of heavy set, leather clad bikers outside the bar. The insignia on their black leather jackets was that of a flaming skull. When we walked by, they all turned to look at us.

“Are you sure you guys are in the right place?” Laughed one guy. “This is a bar for grown-ups you know?”

“Hey look at the ass on that chick! That’s the kind of butt that I would just split wide open with my tool.”

“She ain’t got a bad set of tits on her as well. Now that’s the kind I could suck on all goddamned night!”

“Ok”, said Larry as he suddenly stopped. “I will not have this. They will not talk to you like this.”

“No wait Larry, don’t go over there, just ignore them.”

I tried to pull him back, but he would not listen.

“Right”, he said marching up onto the gang, “I just want to say to you gentlemen that nobody talks to my girl like that, I don’t care how big and tough you are. We have come here to drink and we will not be abused.”

They all burst out laughing. One of them then got up off his bike. He was a huge guy of about six foot six, dwarfing Larry.

“Man”, he said in a deep voice. “I got to admire the stones on you son I have to say. I do respect a man who will stand up for his girl. Let me shake your hand.”
